These are some examples of my hand-crafted fleece products.

I take extra special care at every stage of their production:

from rearing the sheep to blade-shearing them;

from cleaning the fleeces to felting them.  And my wonderful mamma does the knitting!

meet the sheep...

Here are a few of the flock who have particularly distinct fleeces.  I am working on building colour diversity and lustre into the flock, but this will take time - so for now its mostly white and some natural dye colour experiments might make appearances!

WOOL

Wool is one of the most beautiful,  sustainable and versatile of materials, and the wool from my mixed motley flock is  even more so because - as you can see from the photos - their different types of fleece are suited to a variety of uses and products.

versatile

My designs celebrate  the natural properties of wool: insulating and hard-wearing as well as soft and beautiful.

Fleece is a great way of sequestering carbon, and buying it supports regenerative agriculture, so it does its own little bit to help the planet! And I use every part of every fleece - nothing is thrown away.  Anything that can't be crafted into one of my products can be turned into a 'schwipe' (for cleaning, instead of a cloth or a sponge) or used as a mulch for garden plants, then composted.
